I plan to drive at least a part of the "Wilderniss route" and drive further North till South Lapland.
Because some evenings I was already attacked by mosquitoes I want to buy a Thermacell device; this was a hint from the Swedish guy at the camping and in Lapland the mosquitoes will only be worse..
In the XXL shop at Östersund I find the Thermacell and start the famous Wilderness route.
Well, that was a bit of a disappointment, it's al tarmac road and the so called wild camping spots are only a few meters from  the road.
I stop at one of them but there are already caravans and campers piling up, the fire pit is full of garbage and in the roadsides you can spot the toilet paper. Not my idea of wild camping.
I had also seen a drone movie which was taken at 6/07 when the most Northern part of the  wilderness road opens and there was a massive traffic jam of several kilometres. The road was completely filled with cars, caravans, motorhomes etc..  Too many tourists there for me and I decide not to go further North but to drive from West to East along the gravel roads and that turned out to be a real good decision.
Hardly any traffic here,  only big dust clouds behind the car. :-)
I drive from Norräker to Högland and the landscape is wonderful out here.

In the late afternoon a moose is crossing the road, luckily I spot him on time and I even manage to take a snapshot of it through the windshield of the car.
I take some drone shots on the way and find a wild camp spot which deserves this name.
It is along a wide streaming river and it is perfect. Only the mosquitoes also think this is a nice place  and they seem to have a group event at the location. Thermacell to the rescue and yes, it works very good :-)
